Our previous conductor, Michael Savage, now lives in the beautiful Devon resort of Sidmouth. At his invitation we went there on a mini-tour in October 2009. We repeated some of our spring concert programme, and celebrated Mendelssohn's 200th birthday with his Hear My Prayer. We sang in St Francis Church, Woolbrook Road, Sidmouth on Saturday, 3rd October
Our soloists, all former Exeter Cathedral Choristers, were: Hannah Partridge, Michael Dobson, Gordon Pike and Michael Clark Darren Hogg accompanied us on the organ. The programme was: Haydn: Insanae et Vanae Curae Mendelssohn: Hear My Prayer Mozart: Benedictus from the Requiem Mozart: Te Deum, K141 Beethoven: Mass in C
Proceeds went to Exeter Cathedral Old Choristers Association Wesley Fund
John Bayley, our conductor thoroughly enjoyed the trip. It had been a long time since he last visited Sidmouth!
